Aston Villa defender Kosta Nedeljkovic has reached an agreement with Fiorentina to join them on loan until the end of the season.

That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze. He provides the latest on the potential Aston Villa exit today.

According to his information, the Serbian defender would like to play in Serie A during the second half of the season. He’s currently on loan at RB Leipzig but they are open to the idea.

The plan would be for his loan deal at the German club to be terminated early. That would then free up Nedeljkovic to move to Fiorentina. Leipzig have given their approval, but the deal isn’t finalised yet.

Instead, it now depends on a deal being done between Fiorentina and Aston Villa. They’re working on an agreement, and the deal is very much alive.

Nedeljkovic joined the German side in February last year, with that deal due to expire in the summer. He’s only made 17 appearances for them since though and has only made six appearances totalling 297 minutes this season. He’s spent the last five league games on the bench as an unused substitute.

That’s seemingly opened the door for Fiorentina to get the youngster on deadline day. Given Leipzig have approved the loan deal being cut early, that’s one major hurdle cleared.
