The Premier League club submitted their first offer for the Belgian on Sunday for around £14 million, which Celtic turned down.

Celtic’s interim manager, Martin O’Neill, expressed his desire to retain Engels following their 2-0 win over Falkirk on Sunday.
When questioned about interest in the 22-year-old, he said: “Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. I didn’t hear that, but I would, yeah, no question about it.
“Honestly, I’m telling you, I didn’t know a thing about it. If they’d done it (made an offer), then they must have done it during the game. No, no, no, seriously. No, seriously, because I didn’t know a thing about it.
“And I’d want it rebuffed, unless it was £100 million.
“And then I think the board would step in then.”
Engels arrived at Celtic Park in 2024 from FC Augsburg for £11 million, a record signing for the club. If Celtic were to accept Forest’s offer, it would more than double their initial investment in the player.
