Tyrique George has been announced as an Everton player after joining on loan from Chelsea.

Chelsea fans may not get to see Tyrique George again after his loan move to Everton, with an option to buy clause inserted in his deal.

Across all competitions for the senior team, George made 11 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist. His efficiency was undeniable, averaging a goal contribution every 123 minutes.

George grew frustrated at Chelsea due to the lack of minutes, which ultimately forced his to go and look for regular minutes away from Stamford Bridge.

And now it seems as if he’s let his frustration show in his first Everton interview.

Tyrique George knows Everton can appreciate hard work

Tyrique George was a wanted man during the January transfer window. Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte both registered an interest in the youngster.

He ended up choosing Everton and he’s given his reasoning (via Everton‘s official website).

“The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show. I want to be exciting and I want to impress them.”

Even Lee Carsley was a big fan of George, but he just didn’t get the chances at Chelsea.

A subtle dig at Chelsea

Just weeks before this move, Rosenior publicly stated (London World) that his team selection was based purely on what you do in training rather than a player’s price tag. The new Chelsea boss also described his training attitude as ‘top class’, so you can understand why he may feel slightly hard done by.

For a player who never featured under Rosenior, the promise of ‘hard work’ to a new fan base serves as a clear indictment of a Chelsea structure that he felt valued market value.

However, in Rosenior’s defence, he has the likes of Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto and Jamie Gittens, who have all cost a fortune to join Chelsea.
