Manchester United evoked the spirit of Fergie time as Fulham’s late comeback was spoiled by Benjamin Sesko’s injury-time winner in a 3-2 win.

United had a penalty appeal turned down unfairly in the first half, before being given one, only for it to be converted to a free kick by VAR.

Casemiro headed in the opener from the resulting free-kick and put United in control of a game where they defended resolutely and attacked with purpose.

Fulham threatened a bit in the second half before Cunha’s hammering strike gave United a cushion to allow them to see through the win.

However, Maguire conceding a late penalty set things in motion for Fulham with Kevin equalising soon after. Sesko didn’t get the script for a draw as he responded two minutes later with a dream winner.

Brilliant reaction save to keep the game goalless in the first half, and added to it with some fine passing skills.

Diogo Dalot – 7.5

Chukwueze was a regular outlet for Fulham, but Dalot was confident and secure in his duels.

Harry Maguire – 6

Won his duels on the ground and in the air to have a good game, ruined by conceding a late penalty that made the game have a nervous end.

Lisandro Martinez – 8

Carrick used his raking passes from deep to bypass midfield lines and he did it well. Warrior-like defensive display near the end as United held on to their 3-2 lead.

Luke Shaw – 7

Solid enough in defence but needed more from him overlapping.

Casemiro – 8.5

Another goal from a set-piece in addition to a combative midfield performance. It’s reaching a point where United will actually miss him next season.

Kobbie Mainoo – 8

Silky passes, crunching tackles to get Old Trafford off their feet, and purposeful defending continued his sparkling form.
