Davide Frattesi’s agent has confirmed a move to Nottingham Forest will now not happen for the Inter Milan midfielder.
The 26-year-old has been a target for the Reds during the winter transfer window. At one stage, it appeared they were close to snapping him up and a move to the City Ground was on the cards.
However, Frattesi is now in line to remain at the San Siro – despite both Forest and Lazio having him in their sights. Inter had wanted Liverpool’s Curtis Jones as a replacement, but with the Merseyside club unwilling to let their man go it had a knock-on effect.

“There was an approach from Lazio, but then Liverpool wouldn’t let Jones go so at the end of the day it all ground to a halt,” Frattesi’s agent, Giuseppe Riso told Sky Sports Italia (via Football Italia). “Frattesi won’t go to Nottingham Forest either. Inter don’t want to be deprived of his experience at this moment and did not want to go any further in talks.”
Midfield is an area the Reds want to strengthen before tonight’s 7pm cut-off. They have had three bids rejected for Celtic’s Arne Engels and time is running out for any deal to get done.
Forest have added striker Lorenzo Lucca and goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to Sean Dyche’s squad so far this window. They are in line to make left-back Luca Netz their third signing with a £2 million deal from Borussia Monchengladbach.
