Fabrizio Romano says Aston Villa have almost agreed a deadline day departure with one young player now on the verge of leaving.
Villa are wrapping up one of their quietest deadline days in recent memory after boss Unai Emery insisted the club have finished their business for the window.
Villa have been busy this January bringing back old favourites. They splashed £18 million on Tammy Abraham from Besiktas after he scored 13 goals in Turkey, getting him on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The striker previously fired Villa to promotion back in 2019 with 26 Championship goals, and he’s back to provide backup for Ollie Watkins.
Douglas Luiz also returned home on loan from Juventus for the rest of the season. Tthe Brazilian midfielder has an option-to-buy included after his nightmare spell at Forest got cut short.
Boubacar Kamara’s season-ending injury forced Villa’s hand, with John McGinn and Youri Tielemans also facing lengthy spells out.
Emery made it clear after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Brentford that Villa won’t be doing any more incoming business.

Aston Villa approached over ‘clinical’ gem as late January exit on the cards
The Villans have communicated their demands.
“Not. Definitely not,” he said when asked about deadline day signings.
“We don’t have a lot of possibilities to do something to improve now. We did everything we planned. It is completely done the transfer window for us.”
There have been suggestions that Villa are considering a late deal for Fulham’s Harry Wilson, and a possible offer for Ferran Torres, but it remains to be seen whether they take the plunge following Emery’s comments.
The big talking point has been Harvey Elliott’s situation.
The Liverpool loanee has featured just seven times this season, but Villa have a £35 million obligation to buy him permanently if he makes three more appearances. Emery reportedly doesn’t want to trigger that clause, creating an awkward situation where they can only play Elliott twice more before summer unless Liverpool agrees to remove the obligation.

On the outgoing side, Villa have confirmed Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba joined West Brom on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old scored a last-gasp winner against RB Salzburg in the Europa League on January 29th but needs regular football. Morgan Rogers liked West Brom’s Instagram announcement, showing his support for the youngster returning to The Hawthorns where he previously came through the ranks.
Now, after Jimoh-Aloba, it is believed that Villa could be about to green-light another exit.
Lino Sousa on verge of Aston Villa exit
According to a breaking report from Romano, the man poised to leave is 21-year-old left-back Lino Sousa.
It is now claimed that Sousa is on the verge of joining Rotherham on loan, with a deal ‘almost agreed’.
The former Arsenal academy gem, who spent last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, hasn’t made a single appearance for Villa’s first team yet after NSWE snapped him up from the Gunners two years ago.
He’s actually made just one appearance for Villa’s Under-21s, the sum of his cameos in the Midlands so far.
Before joining Arsenal’s youth ranks, Sousa was also once plying his trade in West Brom’s academy.
