Despite his tender age of 22, the left-back has made over 120 appearances in the German top-flight, earning quite a reputation.

Forest submitted a deal sheet to get a deal for Netz over the line in time and after arriving at the City Ground he’s delivered his reaction.

The German defender feels like a signing with bags of potential, and he’s certainly excited to really get going.

Forest needed some left-back cover after Oleksandr Zinchenko’s loan was terminated, allowing him to join Ajax.

Neco Williams is the number one player in that position, but he will miss the trip to Leeds on Friday, and it appears Netz is raring to go.

He told the club’s official website: “I am ready for a new challenge and the next step in my career. I am extremely motivated to get started here, and I’m incredibly excited about the first training sessions and matches at the City Ground in front of our fans.”

Netz should be a superb deputy for Williams

The Wales defender will only have to sit out for one match, which will come at Elland Road on Friday night in a huge game.

Now that Netz has signed, however, the Reds should have cover for Williams’ place, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

With lots of experience at such a young age, it’s fascinating to see how he adapts to life in the Premier League.

Forest needed a new left-back and in landing one for £2 million, it already feels like a better piece of business than the decision to sign Zinchenko in the summer.
