Everton are still looking at getting additions over the line alongside Chelsea starlet Tyrique George, according to reports – with long-standing interest in Fulham star Harry Wilson seeing the Toffees made an enquiry over a January move.

Everton are set to get the signing of Tyrique George over the line on Monday’s transfer deadline day, and alongside a return for Harrison Armstrong, the Toffees’ attacking ranks have now seemingly coped with the injury to loan star Jack Grealish.

However, it appears that their recruitment team haven’t stopped there, with interest in Wilson reportedly resulting in a formal enquiry for the ‘magical‘ Welshman.

BBC Sport: Fulham ‘Reject’ Everton Enquiry for Harry Wilson

The report by BBC Sport reporter Sami Mokbel states that Fulham have rejected an enquiry from Everton for Wilson heading into the late knockings of the transfer window.

The approach arrived last week, though the Cottagers turned it down, unwilling to lose their star player after a period of superb form from the Welshman.

Wilson, who is out of contract in the summer, can leave for nothing once his contract expires. However, despite potentially being able to pick up a fee for his services, Fulham are adamant that the 28-year-old won’t depart this winter.

Although talks are currently on hold, Fulham do want to try to tempt Wilson into signing a new deal. However, with clubs such as Everton and Aston Villa in the race for his services, that could become an increasingly difficult task.

Wilson won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award after his strike against Crystal Palace in December, and with eight goals to his name already, it marks his best-ever Premier League campaign.

As a graduate of Liverpool’s academy, Wilson has roots in the north west, and a return to Merseyside could be hugely beneficial to the Wales international if he decides that is the best course of action for his career.
