Bradford City have signed Manchester United forward Ethan Wheatley on loan until the end of the current campaign.

The striker, 20, has made four appearances for the Red Devils, has represented England at youth level, and arrives at Bradford with experience of loan spells in both League One and League Two.

Wheatley spent the second half of last season on loan at fourth tier Walsall and the first half of this campaign with League One side Northampton, making 22 appearances and scoring three goals for the Cobblers.

The forward told the Bradford website, external he believed his experience would stand him in good stead with the Bantams, who are fifth in League One and pushing for consecutive promotions.

He said: “I hope I can add to the side after the strong start they have made and score goals. The last couple of months at Northampton, I grew as a player, and I want to continue doing that here.”
