Ismail Sarr equalised from the penalty spot after Neco Williams had handled the ball on the goal line to receive his marching orders from the Reds.
As the whistle blows at the City Ground, we’ve marked the players out of 10.

Was nothing he could do about the goal that Ismaila Sarr scored from the penalty spot near half-time. Must have picked up an injury and was subbed at the interval.
Ola Aina – 6
Very wasteful in possession, giving the ball away in crucial areas on a number of occasions. Struggled to link up as he normally does so successfully with Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Nikola Milenkovic – 7
Coped extremely well against the Palace attackers and, in truth, wasn’t really tested in an aerial sense all afternoon at the City Ground.
Murillo – 5
Has to cut out the decisions he makes when it comes to dribbling the ball out from the defensive third. He was dispossessed in the lead-up to Palace’s corner, which led to Williams getting sent off.
Neco Williams – 3
Cost Forest big style with his decision to handle Jefferson Lerma’s header on the line right on the stroke of half-time. Will be sorely missed in the six-pointer against Leeds next week.
Ibrahim Sangare – 6
A steady showing from the Ivorian, who tried his very best to get the ball down and get Forest playing on the front foot.
Elliot Anderson – 7
A very strong performance from Anderson who looks far more like his usual self when Sangare plays alongside him in midfield.
Nicolas Dominguez – 6
The fall guy when Williams was sent off. Didn’t do a lot wrong, and Forest did miss his tenacious work rate in the second 45 minutes.
Morgan Gibbs-White – 8
Took his early goal extremely well and was Forest’s bright creative spark throughout the game. This was absolutely one of his best performances this season.
Callum Hudson-Odoi – 4
Hooked at the break and played very poorly throughout. Didn’t seem at the races from the off, and hopefully, this was merely a blip.
Igor Jesus – 7
Played well without ever really getting too much service. Linked up with Morgan Gibbs-White extremely well in the first 45 minutes.
SubstitutesMorato – 5
Nobody ever really feels completely comfortable when Morato comes off the bench but here he did largely okay minus one or two eerie moments.
Ryan Yates – 6
Was very combative, won a few cheap free kicks for the Reds and was largely a menace after being introduced from the bench.
Angus Gunn – 7
After seeing Stefan Ortega unveiled before the game, Gunn might have been forgiven for feeling low on confidence. Didn’t have much to do but what was asked of him he looked comfortable with.
Dan Ndoye – 6
A very lively performance. Ndoye just needs to work a little bit more on his decision-making when in possession of the ball, but this was a positive showing.
