Leicester City head into the 33rd and final day of the winter transfer window without having made a signing. But that could change, and dramatically so, on deadline day.

That’s because there could be a flurry of late business at the King Power Stadium, with City linked to a host of players over the past 48 hours. Here’s a look at six deals that could happen before 7pm tonight.

Divine Mukasa

This is one deal that looks like happening. A loan agreement between City and Manchester City for the teenage attacking midfielder was in place on Saturday and so it was up to Mukasa to decide if he wanted to spend the next few months at the King Power Stadium.

He’s been a regular provider of goals and assists at youth level for Man City and has been deemed talented enough by Pep Guardiola to be handed six senior outings this term.

With Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey out, City are in desperate need of forward-thinking midfielders, so Mukasa ticks a box there, while he can also play up front.

Joe Aribo

City have been linked prominently to the Nigerian midfielder over the past 48 hours. He looks to be surplus to requirements at Southampton.

As well as attacking options in the centre of the park, City could do with a deeper midfielder too, with Boubakary Soumare sold, with Hamza Choudhury injured and with Harry Winks’ future still in doubt.

Aribo, 29, has plenty of experience and while he’s only played seven matches this season, he played a key role for the Saints in their promotion two years ago.

Jamaal Lascelles

Centre-back is another position where exits and injuries have taken their toll. Wout Faes has left, Jannik Vestergaard is injured and now Caleb Okoli is suspended. If no centre-backs arrive, then City will likely face Birmingham with Ben Nelson and Bade Aluko at the heart of their defence, with Kevon Gray as back-up.

But they’ve been linked, along with several other clubs, to experienced campaigner Lascelles, who is being allowed to leave Newcastle.

Where there may be doubts are over Lascelles’ fitness. He’s only played 19 minutes this season, back in September, having missed the whole of the last campaign with an ACL tear.

Mads Hermansen

The goalkeeper’s switch to West Ham has not worked out as he expected and there are reports that he’s now seeking minutes to ensure he is in the Denmark squad for the World Cup. City are one of the clubs said to be after him.

Jakub Stolarczyk made an excellent start as Hermansen’s replacement, and had an exceptional game a few weeks ago against West Brom, but his save percentage has dropped since his injury, falling from 72 per cent to 61 per cent. He’s also looked shaky at set-pieces of late.

Hermansen was extremely good during City’s promotion campaign and world class in the few months before his injury in the Premier League, but even he struggled in the second half of last season.

Striker in

This was City’s priority coming into the transfer window but injuries elsewhere have changed their plans. However, it’s not out of the question that a forward arrives.

Mukasa can play up front and so maybe he is being targeted to cover both roles, but that wouldn’t satisfy supporters who are craving a goal-getting number nine that can start over Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka.

Harry Winks out

He may have made his first appearance in two months on Saturday, but it may be a farewell outing. Winks is into the final six months of his contract and if City don’t want to lose him for nothing in the summer, he will need to be sold today.

An exit seemed probable under Marti Cifuentes, but the change in the dugout may mean City are now happier to keep the midfielder, let him help them stay up this season, and bid goodbye to him in June. It’s one to watch.
