A Southampton restaurant has been hailed for its enormous Sunday roasts, where you’re “spoilt for choice”.
Banana Wharf, which is located at Ocean Village Marina, has received some praise for its sharer roasts, with the biggest one being the sharer for six that comes to £120 (£20 per person).
This comes with a selection of meats and a choice of three additional sides, along with the standard trimmings of roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, Yorkshire Puddings, stuffing and more.
Banana Wharf’s Sunday roast sharer caught the attention of food reviewer @bigdaddybsfoods (real name Billy D’Souza) on Instagram.
He reviewed his experience back in December as part of his series trying to find the best Sunday roast in Hampshire.
Banana Wharf praised for ‘wow factor’ Sunday roast
Billy described the roast as an “absolute beast” at the beginning of his video, saying that it may well be the biggest roast in Hampshire.
He added: “I have to be honest, I don’t really know where to start!”
Billy highlighted the “super tasty” Brussels sprouts among the vegetables on offer, as well as the “rich” cauliflower cheese.
Additionally, after listing through all of the trimmings, he said that you “really are spoilt for choice”.
The rolled pork belly was picked out as a particular favourite by Billy from the meat options, while he claimed the beef was “one of the best he’d had”.
Concluding the video, he said: “Overall, this is a cracking roast, it’s got the wow factor, the choice is ridiculous, which is why it goes into second place with a 9.1/10.”
What do visitors think of Banana Wharf?
Banana Wharf has been mostly well-received by visitors, earning a 3.9/5 score on Tripadvisor from 1,031 reviews and a 4.2/5 score on Google Reviews from 1,473 ratings.
Discussing recent positive reviews and the restaurant as a whole, general manager Pompiliu Guta said: “You could say that we are blessed by being situated in the middle of Ocean Village Marina, but our position would mean nothing without our amazing team.
“And that is why I will take this opportunity to thank my entire team for their hard work and their commitment, as none of it would be possible without them.
