  1. I hope we pay up for cho gue sung he looks like a brilliant player but everything seems unknown at this rate which may be a little worrying but we need the sexiest footballer in the world.

  2. Ryan Fitz, u need to hear this. Firstly, just because there is a rumour in a Scottish rag, doesn't make it true. Secondly, a bid, whether true or not, doesn't represent where the player wants to go. A bid is from a team that wants said player. You claimed GG wants to go to the teams that are rumoured to have bid for him. πŸ™„πŸ€ͺ

  3. The automatic translation of Jo's interview, or articles made on it, apparently have been misunderstood or edited heavily- so claims HailHail67. I've gone and rewatched Joo's interview with proper subtitles for his speech, and analyzed sentence by sentence, using what I know of Korean, and verifying word meanings. HailHail67 are sort of right. He has no concrete plans for joining Mainz despite what articles say, and is aware of the dangers of waiting for a transfer until summer. However, Ji-sung Pak has told him of many Korean players struggling after a winter transfer to Europe. Jo's final plan is the EPL, though, something HailHail67 denied. Key word "final". He's looking how to get to that point.
Yes, there's been an article that says an unnamed official of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors said how Jo's wish is to go to Mainz, but on the other hand, there was an article several days ago bringing up an actual name: Christian Heidel- the Mainz Sports director. Reportedly, he said Mainz can't afford the player. I trust an article with actual names more than one with nameless words. He might prefer Mainz, but he hasn't said that. TBH, I wouldn't begrudge him if he preferred Mainz (the Korean guy playing there is his actual close friend- evident by the word used right after the person's name), but as it stands, they aren't in the running.

This is far from over for us. Jo said he'd make the decision very quickly.

  4. We've gotten used to our transfers happening almost overnight and without us having any warning about it. We've been spoilt that way. I think this transfer is taking to long and should be abandoned. There probably isn't that much need to actually sign someone right now anyway, as all we really have to do is get the league over the line and we can do that with basically anyone we have in the squad.

  5. Ryan, the name "Szymon WΕ‚odarczyk" is phonetically pronounced "Shimon Vwodarchick" The "Szy" is like shimmer and the Polish letter "Ε‚" is pronounced like "Wuh" like wave, walk etc.

  6. This Cho boy wants guaranteed football and unless hes better than Kyogo hes a sub and if he doesn't back himself to make himself no1 we dnt want him.
This club wasn't built on people wanting things on a plate!
U need to fight for ur dinner here kid

  7. GG is a old school CF hes not silky, flash, elegant hes a hold the ball up,bully defences and get on the end of things so the ball ends up in the net.
Saying that the knuckle ball shot he hit the bar with at the weekend would have been some goal and for a big lad hes acrobatic and I want him to stay…….dnt leave GG!!!!!!

  8. Celtic to win 4-3. Spaceman to get 3 penalties after doing star jumps in our box. πŸ˜™

Would love for Cho to become a Celt, he looks very good and could be what we're missing in the UCL. Sadly, I don't think he will be. Who else then can we take in that is as good or better and is within our price range?

  9. I think the prospects of a deal for Cho have now essentially evaporated. I think the player himself might be inclined to move to Celtic, but now that it has become a big issue in the press, he is facing a rising tide of pressure NOT to do so.
In recent days there has been a growing undercurrent of nationalistic nonsense in the Korean press, saying that Cho should not move to a team where he would have to play backup to a Japanese player. Of course, I think Ange would find a way to accommodate both Cho and Kyogo, but it is probably accurate to say that Ange prefers a "false nine" guy like Kyogo in that position for most scenarios. A big conventional striker is always Plan B in Ange's philosophy. However, it is important to understand the dynamic that Cho is facing now … because of all the press coverage.

While it is a bit of a stereotype to talk about Korean and Japanese players as a category rather than as individuals, there are strong differences in style. Most people who are willing to evaluate it honestly will admit that the two complement each other extremely well. In the J.League, Korean players have been extremely valuable and extremely popular, because they fit well with their Japanese teammates, yet offer a very different dimension in style of play. The players themselves seem to get on well, not only when playing together in Japan but also in cases where Bundesliga and Dutch clubs have signed both Koreans and Japanese. HOWEVER…

Unfortunately, there is still a very deeply ingrained anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea, and it is perhaps most intense among sports fans (particularly football). Now that the Cho deal has become a long drawn-out process covered daily by the press, the pressure for Cho to go . . . really ANYWHERE but Celtic . . . has been intensifying by the day. I really think this deal is dead, and should be dropped from discussion unless Cho's side makes a revised proposal. They are under enough pressure as it is, and unfairly so. But that's life in this silly sectarian world of ours . . .
