Chelsea’s man of the moment in the Champions League has proven a popular figure with Blues fans in the wake of their thrilling 3-2 win over Napoli.

A sensational second half brace from the Brazilian was enough to allow Chelsea to qualify automatically for the Round of 16, where a fixture against PSG, Monaco, Newcastle or Qarabag awaits.

Antonio Conte couldn’t help but praise Pedro after his goals knocked his side out of the Champions League, and it is fair to say the forward has hit a purple patch in goalscoring form.

Both goals on Wednesday were assisted by second half substitute Cole Palmer, and it is not the first time the duo have linked up for an important goal.

The England international fed Pedro to score the third in Chelsea’s dominant Club World Cup final victory against PSG, which gave Blues fans their first taste of the link-up they had in store.

It is therefore no surprise that the Mail Online have reported that Pedro and Palmer have struck up a good friendship during their time together at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro described Palmer as a ‘special’ player after the Champions League game, and as he continues to recover from his groin injury they will be able to share the pitch far more often as time goes on.

The Blues spent big money on the former Brighton man after they decided they were looking to build into the future without Nicolas Jackson in the squad.

However, Chelsea feel this deal has been a bargain, especially when taking into account how much money has been spent on a number of strikers by Premier League clubs.

Price tags for Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike were all higher than what Chelsea paid, however none of those have as many Premier League goals as Pedro.

He will likely be given another chance to keep his strong goalscoring run going when the Blues host West Ham on Saturday.
