West Ham have had a loan offer for Southampton defender Taylor Harwood‑Bellis rejected.
The centre‑back, 24, is understood to be open to the move, but Saints are keen to keep hold of him unless terms are significantly improved.
Harwood‑Bellis has started each of Southampton’s past 17 league matches and won his only England cap in November 2024.
He joined Saints in 2023 on loan and helped the side win promotion to the Premier League, triggering a permanent £20m move from Manchester City, before they were relegated in 2025.
West Ham, who remain at risk of the drop despite victories in their past two league games, are looking to strengthen their backline and have also explored a loan for Chelsea‘s Axel Disasi.
Disasi, 27, is considered surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, but the Blues would prefer a permanent sale rather than a loan at this stage.
Roma and Lyon are both understood to have shown interest in the France defender earlier in the window.
West Ham are 18th in the Premier League and face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
