Andreas Christensen | Danish Defender Skills

Andreas Christensen (dan. Andreas Christensen; born April 10, 1996, Lilleroed, Hovedstaden) is a Danish footballer, defender of Chelsea and the Danish national team. Semi-finalist of the European Championship 2020.

Andreas Christensen was born in Lilleroed, Denmark. He started playing football at the Brøndby academy where he spent eight years and attracted the attention of the best clubs in Europe such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich. On 7 February 2012, Christensen signed for Chelsea on a free transfer, at the end of André Villas-Boas’ tenure as head coach of the club. After moving to Chelsea, Christensen said: “I chose Chelsea because they play the football that I like.” On May 19, 2013, Andreas was included in the main team for the first time for the match of the 38th round of the Premier League against Everton (2: 1), but he never appeared on the field. After the end of the 2012/13 season, Christensen was part of the first team on a US pre-season tour and signed his first professional contract. In 2014, he helped his club win the FA Youth Cup and the Youth Premier League. He made his debut for Chelsea in an official game on October 28, 2014 in the fourth round match of the Football League Cup against Shrewsbury Town (2: 1), having played 90 minutes in the starting lineup at right back.

On July 10, 2015, Christensen moved to the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan for two seasons. He made his debut for the “foals” in the match of the 1st round of the German Cup against St. Pauli on August 10, 2015, which ended in a 4-1 victory. On August 15, he made his debut in the Bundesliga, entering the main team for the match of the 1st round against Borussia Dortmund (0:4), spent the entire match on the field. On February 5, he scored two goals against Werder Bremen (5: 1), these goals were the first for him in his professional career.
