Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to reports of the incident at around 7.28am on January 26.

The collision involved two lorries travelling westbound.

As a result of the crash, National Highways South East said lane one of the A31 westbound was closed between the M27 junction 1 and the A338 near Ringwood.

The closure led to significant disruption during the morning rush hour.

National highways further said there was approximately three miles of congestion on the approach to the incident, with motorists facing delays of around 35 minutes compared to usual journey times.

Emergency services attended the scene, and officers later confirmed that two people sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 7.28am to a collision on the A31 involving two lorries.

“Two people suffered minor injuries.”

The road was later reopened once the vehicles were recovered.
