The club is in dispute with Brentford Community Boat House, which administers the site, and has been struggling to keep operating since Christmas.

Ferry Quays is on a part of the Thames that is ideal for children to learn to row as the water is gentle and not too crowded.

Parent volunteers, who run the club, are determined to keep it going because of the social, mental and physical health benefits for the youngsters.

“It is with many happy memories and great sadness that the young rowers are leaving Ferry Quays,” said a spokesperson.

“They do not want to leave, but for the time being they can no longer row from the site.”

The club is in discussion with Hounslow Council to secure a new temporary home.
