Injuries sustained by Mikkel Damsgaard and Kristoffer Ajer during Brentford’s loss to Nottingham Forest are not as serious as initially feared.

Both Bees players went off at the same time after suffering injuries in quick succession.

But scans have suggested that they will not face lengthy spells on the sidelines, although they might miss this weekend’s game against Aston Villa.

“It was the main reason I didn’t sleep so well on Sunday night; those two coming off in the way they did,” said boss Keith Andrews.

“It was concerning, but they’re both pretty good, really. It’s nothing serious. I was pretty worried.

“Whether they’ll be available for the weekend or not, I’m not entirely sure on both of them. But if they’re not, they won’t be far off that.”

Brentford face a tough task against in-form Villa, who are just three points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal

Andrews’ side climbed to the cusp of the top four following an excellent recent run, but back-to-back defeats, against Chelsea and Forest, have seen them drop to eighth in the table.

“We’re always looking to improve performance levels overall. We just want to be striving and improve everything we do on a daily basis and see where that takes us,” Andrews said.
