WAB have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season. Gameweek 24 saw Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari live up to his reputation of only scoring spectacular goals with a powerful strike from just inside the box against Fulham.
The Swedish international midfielder has quietly become a key player under Fabian Hurzeler over the past 18 months with the only major criticism you could have being not enough goal involvements.
Things look to be changing in that department, however. His effort to open the scoring at Craven Cottage made it two goals and two assists in his past five starts.
Ayari continuing in that vein by weighing in with regular attacking returns over the remainder of the season would be good news for Brighton – and good news for FPL managers looking for a reasonably-priced midfielder.
Wilson wins it at the end for Fulham
The Albion were mere seconds away from leaving Fulham with a 1-1 draw thanks to that Ayari goal, only for a stoppage time free kick from in-form Harry Wilson (£6.0 million) to ensure another miserable defeat against the Cottagers. It is now just one point from six Premier League visits for Brighton from this part of the world.
Yet for all the criticism that has come the way of the Albion and Fabian Hurzeler for the manner in which they lost, the Seagulls led their hosts for for attempts (13-12), shots inside the box (10-5) and Opta-defined big chances (4-2).
Ayari broke the deadlock on 28 minutes with a strike hit early and with so much power that Bernd Leno (£4.9 million) could not keep it out. Olivier Boscagli (£4.2 million) claimed the assist on a rare Premier League start.
The Cottagers equalised on 72 minutes but almost immediately, Danny Welbeck (£6.2 million) thought he had put Brighton back ahead. VAR had other ideas and ruled out the goal for the finest of offside margins.
Welbeck had further chances beyond that one controversially ruled out. He stretched to put a Kaoru Mitoma (£6.1 million) assist wide and forced a brilliant tip over the bar from Leno, fed by one of 10 Pascal Gross (£5.5 million) crosses.
Gross set up six chances in total with several of those being for a Lewis Dunk (£4.5 million) header. Yet the German international walked off the pitch without an assist to show for his efforts.
Brighton FPL Spotlight: Yasin Ayari (£4.8 million)
Having started 16 of the Albion’s first 21 Premier League fixtures, it was a bit of a surprise to see Ayari as an unused substituted in Gameweek 22 against Bournemouth.
He responded in the best possible manner to that disappointment by notching on his return. As well as the two goals and two assists in five Brighton matches we have already mentioned, Ayari had also recorded three additional FPL defensive contributions rewards over the same timeframe.
At the end of Gameweek 19, Ayari ranked joint-third in FPL for long range shots behind only Matheus Cunha (£8.0 million) and Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.6 million). Interestingly since then, his two goals have come from inside the box.

Even more interesting is Ayari still has not registered a big chance. No player has accumulated more shots (39) without one.
For those about to activate their Wildcard in Gameweek 24, he is an intriguing cheap midfielder.
FPL Gameweek 23 best of the rest
The latest round of top flight action in FPL Gameweek felt chaotic due to the absence of so many big name players.
Erling Haaland (£15.1 million), Phil Foden (£8.5 million) and Hugo Ekitike (£8.8 million) were all benched. Cole Palmer (£10.4 million) and Bruno Guimaraes (£7.2 million) meanwhile were absent.
Adding to the difficulty were a lack of points from Arsenal assets because of their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United. The only high-owned players to get on the scoresheet were Wilson for his late heroics against the Albion and Antoine Semenyo (£7.8 million).
Leading the way for points were the 13 of midfield duo Dominik Szoboszlai and Estevao (£6.4 million), who combined a goal with an assist.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.6 million) and Joao Pedro (£7.2 million) did the same but as forwards, securing one less point for their strikes.
FPL Gameweek 24 players in demand
Arsenal losing their unbeaten home record to United means interim boss Michael Carrick has now led the Red Devils to consecutive wins over Manchester City and the Gunners.
This is driving a huge increase in the popularity of United players. Bruno Fernandes (£9.5 million) was the most-bought individual for Gameweek 23 and leads the way coming into Gameweek 24 too, closely followed by teammate Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3 million).
There is also some love for Pedro and Enzo Fernandez (£6.7 million) as FPL managers take a run of four promising fixtures into account for Chelsea. The Blues are up against West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and Burnley.
FPL Gameweek 24 captaincy
Many FPL managers chose Gameweek 23 to finally go against Haaland as captain. And whilst he may have been benched, none of the most popular armband choices in place of Haaland impressed.
Bukayo Saka (£10.0 million), Igor Thiago (£7.2 million) and Ekitike all failed to deliver when trusted with the honour.
Which may mean it is back to Haaland for Gameweek 24. Three goals from his last two visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are enough to inspire confidence that Haaland can deliver again.
There could also be a temptation to captain a United or Chelsea attacker. Both are at home against Fulham and West Ham respectively.
