Sky Sports analyst Alan Smith believes Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh have a big role to play against a Toffees side who have conceded just ten away goals so far this season.

David Moyes’s team have kept five clean sheets in their last six away games, most recently in a 1-0 win at high-flying Aston Villa.

They have not conceded on their travels for 315 minutes.

Smith, the former Arsenal and England striker, told The Argus: “Everton have got some great results away from home.

“I think when you’re playing against that kind of defensive shape, the wide men are always important, and Brighton have got really good wide men, Mitoma and Minteh.

“It would be interesting if they both play and really keep the width on the pitch there to try and stretch Everton.

“So, I would say that’s a key aspect of it.”

Mitoma was involved in most of Albion’s most dangerous moments in the 2-1 defeat at Fulham while Minteh went on as substitute for the closing stages.

Everton have conceded nine goals from crosses, the most in the Prem.

Albion can expect to have plenty of the ball given that Everton’s 38.7% share of possession in away games is the lowest figure of its type in the Premier League.

Smith was on duty for Sky when Albion drew with Bournemouth recently and was impressed by substitute Charalampos Kostoulas, who went on to score a spectacular equaliser.

He said: “Kostoulas has impressed me, particularly in the game against Bournemouth with that overhead kick right at the end.

“He’s an 18-year-old talent and that was great news for him and his team to grab a point. So he would be the one at the moment.

“Danny Welbeck continues to play really well and grab goals, which is great for him, enjoying an Indian summer in his career.”

Everton welcome back defender Michael Keane from suspension and Jarrad Branthwaite has returned from injury.
