A house in Hove was damaged by fire in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 28 January).
The fire service said this morning: “At 4.47am, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a domestic dwelling fire in New Church Road, Hove.
“Crews from Hove, Preston Circus, Roedean, Lewes and Newhaven are in attendance, along with a command unit from Bexhill.
“Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and fighting the fire with hose-reel jets.
“No other emergency services are in attendance.
“There are no reports of casualties.
“Please avoid the area.
“Those within the area are advised to close all windows and doors.”
In an update, the fire service added: “As of 7.09am, crews were damping down and checking for hot spots.
“A reinspection is due to take place later this morning.”
