Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Reds eye January window signings for Sean Dyche’s squad

Nottingham Forest are eyeing up Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa as transfer deadline day looms on the horizon.
The Reds have made one signing so far this month, bringing in forward Lorenzo Lucca on loan from Napoli. They have until 7pm on February 2 to complete any further January business and have their sights set on further strengthening Sean Dyche’s squad.
Sa has emerged as a potential target for Forest and they are “exploring a move” for him in the final few days of the window. According to the BBC, talks have taken place regarding a possible swoop for the 33-year-old.

Matz Sels has reestablished himself as first-choice between the posts for Dyche. The Belgian lost his place to summer signing John Victor for a spell not so long ago, but the latter is now sidelined after undergoing knee surgery.
With John out of action, Angus Gunn is currently back-up to Sels. Earlier in the season, Gunn had admitted he would consider his options during the winter window in an effort to secure game time.
The Reds have been linked with Sa in the past, including prior to Sels joining the club in the winter of 2024. The Portuguese is well-known to the Forest hierarchy, having moved from fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos to Molineux in 2021.

Sa has made 12 appearances for Wolves so far this season. Rob Edwards’ side are rock-bottom of the Premier League with eight points. Forest are set to host them at the City Ground on February 11.
Sa is not the only Wolves player on the Reds’ radar this month. They are also admirers of forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Lucca put pen to paper last week, but Forest are targeting another striker. A bid has been made for Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, but Strand Larsen is someone the Reds have had an interest in.
