Moyes sent Scouts to watch James Maddison play for Norwich at Chelsea in a cup game … he looked class that day and not out of place … Moyes decided against buying him … Leicester bought him for £24m …. now worth £60m. Perhaps he can't multitask and play left back.
I reckon Rob Newman saw Alvarez as a great fit for West Ham because of his similarities to Lingard and probably thought Moyes would think the same and want him in that role. I bet Moyes decided not to go for him because he still thought he'd be able to sign Lingard in the summer…

I agree with Gonzo it's not even whether Moyes like this player or not. It's that he won't bother having a punt on his chief scouts recommendation when we were desperate for players.More proof he can't manage a squad
