Thomas Frank and Xavi Simons preview Tottenham’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund. The under fire manager says he had lunch with board members today and has their trust, and says he is up for the sort of fight Spurs need if they are to end their losing streak.

0:00 intro

0:10 Frank: I’ve just been feeling the trust along the way. I had lunch with the board today, the only focus I have is winning against Dortmund.

1:00: Frank: as long as we win football matches then, everyone will support us, it’s not about me it’s about the team. We have 11 outfield players available for the game. Xavi’s ankle is injured after Bowen tackle but he will play through pain. Bowen should have been sent off.

3:06: Frank: I can win the fans back, you need to show resilience, I have good values, one in five don’t like you whatever you do. 3 in 5 can support you.

4:03: Frank: I think if your back is against the wall you fight, I fight.

5:00 Xavi: we have to stick together.

5:59 Frank: I made the decision between Tel and Solanke, I chose Dom because if I could pick everyone then Tel would start but I can only pick between those two.

6:59 Frank: Palhinha is out.

7:15 Xavi: am still young but you can see the young guys working hard, there is no
Age it’s just football. They are all ready

7:48 Xavi: you have to deal with situations in life that you don’t have the answers for, but we have to stick together and work hard.

8:35 Frank: I think football is very simple but it is also complex. We lost four of the last seven by one goal, we could have gotten more from them. I nothing without my players and our best players haven’t been available.

10:48 Frank: think the fans are crucial, we don’t see any club doing well without supportive fans. It’s not been as fluid as we’d want it. There are a lot of signs it is going the right way. We are much closer than we think.

13:05 Frank: We have been regularly playing in the right way in the last few games. Even the Villa game could have been a draw.

13:50 Xavi: We want to turn this around, playing in the UCL is the biggest stage. Every game is a big game for me

14:25 Frank: I don’t know how fans will take the decision to put Solanke in the squad ahead of Tel. Dom has experience and a voice. I made my decision and I believe it is the right one

15:40 Xavi: it is not fair to compare clubs, every situation is different. I am happy to be here, this is the situation we are in.

16:27 Frank: I think being up for the fight is to get up early in the morning and preparing, turning every stone to make sure we are prepared for every match. It is not just about me it is about the whole squad and staff.

18:27 Frank: It’s crucial to have emotion in football.

19:25 Frank: I haven’t heard any situation in football where it’s if you win or not decides your job. It is stormy weather out there. Normally people are running away.

20:27 Xavi: Pain from the tackle is getting better. Everyone wants to win, the players want to win too. I’m willing to give everything to win

  1. Bro
    No hate to you
But why don’t you bring Vuskovic back and other players in loan

    Play 5-3-2

You can rotate defenders and play solanke tel and Kolo as strikers

    May be its better

Play paulinha and connor as midfielders

Sticking to 4-2-3-1 for life FFS

it’s a wrong formation for your style and it ain’t working

  2. Gtfo of my club! He's referencing 2 games out 7 that we "could of won". What about the rest? Winning 2 games out of 7 is shocking for a club of our size.

  3. Behind you gaffer, did my faith wobble a bit after the Westham game? Naturally. But you have to give me something to work with, can’t keep trusting you blindly. Something gaffer, anything. Fingers crossed the good turn starts tomorrow #coys

  4. I tried to believe what he has said so far but I'm out. I went to almost all home matches last season whether we lost or won. This season first 2 matches then I stopped going. I even switch off the TV at half time. His football is boring and even disgusting to watch and I feel sorry for our boys 😢 let's go Xavi!
