Nuno Espirito Santo sack at West Ham not understood to be imminent

Roshane Thomas wrote a new article in The Athletic ahead of the Hammers’ surprising away win against their arch rivals.

He admitted that there is pressure on the Portuguese, given his side’s dismal run of form recently.

Out of 10, how CONFIDENT are you that Nuno can still save West Ham?

However, he claims that sources at the club state that there is no immediate willingness to part ways with the manager.

Nuno was in sack trouble at West Ham, especially after their dismal defeats to Wolves and Nottingham Forest, two teams in a relegation battle with them.

As of now, things appear to be safe for Nuno, and the win against Spurs will certainly have boosted his chances of staying put at the London Stadium.

West Ham still have a five-point deficit to cut, so it goes without saying that they need to start winning games more frequently.

Their upcoming run-in does appear to be favourable, and Nuno will be urging his players to win at least three of their next five league games.

West Ham take on Sunderland next in the league, and that, most certainly, is a winnable fixture despite the Black Cats’ start to the season.

After their visit to Chelsea, the Hammers travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in a relegation six-pointer.

Should the London outfit win that game, Burnley are all but certain to go down and return to the Championship.

Hopefully, Nuno can use the Spurs win and the QPR one before that as a platform to build on.

It would also encourage the new signings that everyone is willing to fight for the jersey.

It remains to be seen how many new players the club do decide to bring in over the next couple of weeks.
