The game did appear to be drifting towards a disappointing draw. West Ham were in control in the first half but ceded that after the break and it felt as if Cristian Romero’s goal had been coming for a while.
Wilson, however, bagged the late winner to seal all three points. After the game, he spoke out.
Callum Wilson wants West Ham to build on win over Tottenham
The 33-year-old was speaking to West Ham’s official website after the game.
He talked of staying professional despite not playing many minutes in recent weeks and expressed his desire to see the club build on this victory.
That is particularly interesting, considering all the speculation. Perhaps Wilson does see a future in east London after all.

“If you keep working you get your rewards, and hopefully this is something we can build on now.”
Callum Wilson’s celebration was a hint over West Ham United future
The way in which Wilson celebrated his goal was interesting.
The forward pressed his finger to his lips to suggest silencing people, before mimicking people talking with his hands.
That felt pointed given his uncertain future.

Nuno Espirito Santo was pleased with Wilson’s performance and perhaps it has given him food for thought.
At 33, Wilson is never going to provide a long-term solution. He can, however, offer experience and goals in what is an almighty scrap to secure Premier League safety.
It remains to be seen if that was Wilson’s last act while clad in claret and blue. If it is, that was some way to sign off.
