Disagree that we should be looking at young players / spending on permanent transfers, for this window only. We're gonna have a reset in the summer with a new boss, why spend money now on guys who might not suit them. Short term deals for players of high quality should be the aim to deliver a squad that can win. The main task is winning the league, not building a team.

Ordinarily we should be signing a younger starter striker with scope for improvement, but I expect the club don't want to commit to an expensive player on a long contract, if the incoming long term manager then doesn't like him and wouldn't have chosen him. It's a complete mess, but I'm expecting a few loans and worn out has-beens to patch things up.
