Besiktas president Serdal Adalı has confirmed that the Turkish club would prefer an Aston Villa player to be involved in a possible deal for Tammy Abraham.
Despite stressing that Besiktas do not want to sell their striker this window, Adalı admitted that the club also admires players from Emery’s squad and would be willing to entertain the idea of a deal involving a player exchange.
Personal terms are not thought to be an issue with Abraham; rather, the complexity lies in negotiations with Besiktas.
The Super Lig side have reportedly already met the terms to trigger an obligation to buy Abraham from AS Roma, having initially signed him on loan last summer.
He has scored seven goals in 17 league matches so far this season and is now being targeted by Villa for a return to the club after Roma recruited Donyell Malen.
On Friday, Adalı spoke to the Turkish media about several topics and was asked specifically about the situation involving Abraham.
“There is an offer for Abraham. We do not favour Abraham’s departure,” he explained.
“There are no other players offered. If that comes, we will sit down and think about it.
“Another team from England is interested. We don’t think of sending him somewhere. We will see what will come our way.
“There is no player in the offer we received. There are players that the technical staff want from Aston Villa. We conveyed it to them.”
