It has now been made public how much money Newcastle United will earn from their FA Cup match away at Aston Villa.

This follows the broadcasters making their selections for the FA Cup fourth round matches.

At Villa Park, the Aston Villa v Newcastle United game has been revealed as a 5.45pm kick-off on Saturday 14 February and will be shown live on BBC One, iPlayer, TNT Sports 3 and discovery+

The official FA announcement included the following: ‘The 16 clubs participating in the television broadcast selections on TNT Sports and BBC One will receive a £100,000 fee, and the clubs featuring in the ties on discovery+ and BBC Wales platforms will receive £50,000. Winning clubs in the fourth round will collect £127,000 from the competition’s prize fund.’

This cash will of course be on top of whatever Aston Villa and Newcastle United split evenly from ticket sales etc, once the costs of staging the match have been deducted.

The FA also confirming that the FA Cup fifth round draw will be shown live on TNT Sports during the pre-match coverage of Macclesfield versus Brentford on Monday 16 February, hopefully United still retaining an interest after Villa Park…

This announcement means that the next ten scheduled Newcastle United matches will be shown live on TV

Sunday 18 January – Wolves v Newcastle (2pm) Sky Sports

Wednesday 21 January – Newcastle v PSV (8pm) TNT Sports (Champions League)

Sunday 25 January – Newcastle v Aston Villa (2pm) Sky Sports

Wednesday 28 January – PSG v Newcastle (8pm) TNT Sports (Champions League)

Saturday 31 January – Liverpool v Newcastle (8pm) TNT Sports

Wednesday 4 February – Manchester City v Newcastle (8pm) Sky Sports (Carabao Cup)

Saturday 7 February – Newcastle v Brentford (5.30pm) Sky Sports

Tuesday 10 February – Spurs v Newcastle (7.30pm) TNT Sports

Saturday 14 February –  Aston Villa v Newcastle (5.45pm) BBC One, iPlayer, TNT Sports 3 and discovery+ (FA Cup)

Saturday 21 February – Man City v Newcastle (12.30pm OR 8pm) TNT Sports

That final game in the ten match sequence, we still don’t know what time it will be, either 12.30pm or 8pm.

Apparently the Etihad Premier League match timing all depends on the possible involvement of Newcastle United and/or Manchester City in the play-off stage of the Champions League.

The clubs that finish between 9th and 24th in the Swiss League stage of the Champions League, will play their home and away play-off matches in the midweeks before and after Newcastle’s Premier League match at Manchester City.

Those play-off matches to be played the midweeks of Tuesday 17/Wednesday 18 February and Tuesday 24/Wednesday 25 February, to decide which eight clubs join the eight Champions League teams who have automatically qualified by finishing top eight in the Swiss League stage.
