Brendan Allen, area coroner for Dorset, formally opened the inquest into the death of 50-year-old Andrew Joseph Payne at Dorset Coroner’s Court on January 14.
The court heard that Mr Payne was found unresponsive at home on November 3.
It was added that he was born in Boscombe on October 30, 1975, and at the time of his death was residing at an address in Madeira Road, Bournemouth.
Chloe Day, coroner’s officer, told the court that Mr Payne was located unresponsive at his home address on November 3.
She added that police and paramedics attended and he was confirmed to be deceased at the scene.
Police stated that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and he was identified by comparison to photo documentation.
A post-mortem examination was conducted by Dr Stolte at Holly Tree Lodge on November 6 and Mr Payne’s provisional cause of death was found to be multiple drug intoxication.
Mr Allen adjourned the inquest for a full hearing to take place on May 5 at 2pm.
Statements have been requested from Mr Payne’s family, GP, Dorset Healthcare and drug and treatment services, if he was known to them.
