This past week, work has been ongoing outside Portman Road to replace the image of Sir Bobby on the side of the Sir Bobby Robson stand.
Since 2009, the image of the former Town boss has been displayed on the side of the stadium, opposite the statue of another Town legend, Sir Alf Ramsey.

This image, however, has been exposed to the elements for the last 16 years.
The new image is an iconic one, depicting Sir Bobby holding the UEFA Cup, which he won with the Blues in 1981.
The work was completed on Friday, January 16, ahead of Town’s game against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon (Kick-off 12.30pm).

Sir Bobby became Ipswich Town’s manager in 1969 and led the Tractor Boys to a famous FA Cup win in 1978 and then the UEFA Cup in 1981.
Those Town teams are widely regarded as the finest in the club’s history, featuring household names known not only in Suffolk, but across England and Europe.
