Manchester United will appoint a permanent head coach for the 2026/27 season and Luis Enrique isn’t expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain to take the job at Old Trafford

Luis Enrique is reportedly not interested in taking the Manchester United job at the end of the season, with sources in France suggesting he will extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
The PSG boss has been one of the names linked with the United head coach job after reports suggested he was set to leave the European champions at the end of the current season.
Enrique joined the Ligue 1 giants in July 2023 after leaving the Spain national team. He has won the league title in France twice, two Coupe de France titles, and the Champions League, the club’s first in their history.
His current contract was due to expire in 2027, and some reports suggested he was set to seek a move away this summer. However, according to The i Paper, Enrique is still happy in Paris and has unfinished business with them.
The newspaper has ruled out a move to England, with Enrique expected to extend his stay at the Parc de Frances. Oliver Glasner, though, is a manager who will be available in the summer after confirming he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.

However, the same report has claimed that his departure from Selhurst Park has not improved his prospects of getting the job at United. A run of nine games without a win across all competitions for Palace has seen his stock fall.
Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Tuchel are the current frontrunners, it is reported. De Zerbi impressed with his performances at Brighton in England before moving to Marseille.
Tuchel’s contract with England expires after the World Cup and has been on United’s radar for a vacancy previously. The German led Chelsea to Champions League glory and enjoyed success with PSG and Bayern Munich.

Michael Carrick will oversee United for the remainder of the season. Much has been made of the appointment after the former United midfielder left Middlesbrough at the end of the season.
Despite the outside noise, Carrick has claimed words from former players aren’t adding to the pressure. “They’re not putting more pressure on me,” Carrick said. “I don’t feel that.
“There are plenty of opinions around, some positive, some not too much. It’s totally irrelevant in terms of what I focus on. There’s a lot that can be said, it’s the way of the world. I’m not going to pay too much attention to that.
“For me, the players and staff, we focus on how we’re going to succeed.”
