Conor Bradley has been ruled out long-term, and Jeremie Frimpong has been deployed higher up the pitch to help Liverpool’s attack in the absence of Mo Salah.

Ramsay – who struggled for game time during a loan spell at Kilmarnock last season – has made just one appearances for the Reds this season. That came in an EFL Cup victory over Crystal Palace.

Slot told the media: “I think it is great for Calvin where he is now.

“When someone is unlucky there is always a player who benefits from that and Calvin is one of those.”

Meanwhile, Slot addressed Andy Robertson’s comments earlier this week, where he spoke about his future at Anfield.

“I think I had to give him a big compliment over what he said, very mature and I understood everything he said,” Slot added. “Every player should have the same feeling who doesn’t start every game but I am really happy to hear he finds joy in his current position and he understands how important he is and has been for this club.

“He hasn’t played as much as he would have hoped but what he said in the media was a big compliment.”
