Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye was linked with a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium during the summer transfer window, and he’s now addressed those rumours.
Ndiaye made the move to the Toffees back in 2024, joining the Merseyside club after a disappointing spell with French side Marseille. The Senegalese international quickly became a fan favourite at Everton, thanks to his trickery and flair out wide, something the Toffees haven’t seen in a player for a while.
Ndiaye was playing in England before his move to Everton, flourishing with Sheffield United in the Championship, earning himself a move to his boyhood club Marseille. After an impressive first season on Merseyside, Ndiaye was linked with a departure, but he remained with the Toffees heading into the 2025/2026 campaign.
Ndiaye Speaks Out on Everton Exit Links
Speaking on potential exit rumours, Ndiaye reiterated his desire to stay at the club, admitting that the rumours showed that he was clearly doing something right. The Senegalese forward has stressed that he wants to achieve things with Everton, hoping to deliver a long-awaited trophy.
“I was always very keen to stay here and be part of this new chapter for Everton. As I always say, if there are rumours or interest and things like that, it must mean you’re doing something right, right?! I am really happy to be at this club and be part of a new project with the new stadium, new ownership. It feels like a new adventure for all of us. I want to achieve things with Everton, I want to win trophies, which the Club hasn’t seen for too long, and things like that. It’s an aim for us to work towards.”
Reports suggested in the summer transfer window that Everton rejected a £40m bid from Inter Milan for Ndiaye. The Toffees are in a better financial position than a few years ago, and they can stand firmer when it comes to clubs looking to poach some of their stars.

Everton Must Build Around Ndiaye

Iliman Ndiaye
Everton have found it difficult to keep some of their best players in recent years, partly down to some of the bigger clubs having plenty of financial power. The Merseyside outfit, if they want to progress, need to start building around some of their key stars, and Ndiaye is certainly one of those.
The Senegalese forward has become a key figure in the final third for the Toffees, and his absence due to AFCON has been felt by David Moyes.
