The Albion boss says there have been discussions about adding to the attacking unit during the current transfer window.

Bue he has shut down talk of ex-England star Kirby leaving, despite reported interest from Juventus.

England striker Michelle Agyemang returned to parent club Arsenal this week, although it was already clear her season was over due to a knee injury.

Madison Haley led the attack in the 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa as action resumed after the winter break.

Kiko Seike, who had had the No.9 role at times in Agyemang’s absence, reverted to the right wing at Villa with Rosa Kafaji on the left and Kirby attacking from midfield.

Spanish centre-forward Carla Camacho went on for the later stages.

Vidosic, who lost the services of England striker Nikita Parris in the summer, made it clear he was short in attack as soon as Agyemang was injured on international duty.

Now, with the window open, he said: “I think there’s been some discussions and I’m sure there will be discussions until the end of the window.

“The club is always looking and we don’t want to bring in anyone just for the sake of it.

“We want to try to bring in the right player, that can help us, not just for this season but also for the for the upcoming years.”

Albion, who host WSL2 side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday, are reported to have rejected bids from Juventus for Kirby.

Vidosic said: “I expect her to be here. She is a very important player for us, helps us a lot, not just on the field but it’s also that leadership quality and also the experience, the calmness, that helps the younger players and those other ones around us.

“She leads by example. You can see the days when she’s not there or she’s missing a game, that there is a slight difference.

“We can’t deny her quality and what she brings.

“She’s definitely one that I want here when February 1 rolls around.”
