Chelsea were linked with a whole host of names over the summer transfer window, and eventually settled on making 10 signings.

The Blues spent a whopping £296.5 million during the summer transfer window. The likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Willian Estevao, Alejandro Garnacho and more all made their way to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea also had a record-breaking summer in terms of sales, becoming the first club to pass the £300 million mark as they recouped a total of £314.4 million.

Chelsea have spent more than £1bn on transfers since their takeover in 2022 but are miles away from challenging for the Premier League title. Who needs to be held to account and why? 💰

Joao Pedro and Willian Estevao have been the two standouts for Chelsea since joining, but the rest have mostly flattered to deceive or lacked consistency.

One player who has impressed in his first season in the Premier League is Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong, who attracted Chelsea’s interest in 2024.

Jeremie Frimpong declares his love for Chelsea

Liverpool secured the signature of Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5 million from Bayer Leverkusen.

He’s not always been the primary right-back at Anfield, but he has certainly impressed in his appearances this season, with his electrifying pace on full show.

With Frimpong building his career at a Premier League rival of Chelsea’s, it came as a surprise to find out that he’s secretly a Chelsea supporter.

He was asked by a fan in Liverpool’s TikTok post.

“Were you always a Liverpool fan? Is that why you played badly against us last season?”

To which he replied.

“I was a Chelsea fan because of Didier Drogba. My dad and my brother did (support Liverpool).”

DECISION TIME: If Liam Rosenior gets to pick one midfielder signing this month, who should it be?💰

Have we missed anyone…

How does Jeremie Frimpong compare to Chelsea’s right-backs this season?

It’s a rather mixed bag when it comes to comparing the three.

Jeremie Frimpong dominates when it comes to dribbling with the ball, storming ahead for successful dribbles and progressive carries. That’s the vocal point of his game, using his pace and dribbling ability to run at full-backs and get crossed into the box.

Malo Gusto’s tackling ability is there for all to see, which goes hand in hand with his pace that allows him to match pretty much any attacker stride for stride.

Meanwhile, Reece James is the creative and goalscoring threat from defence for Chelsea. We always knew he was one of the best passers of a ball, and this proves it.
