    [Matt Law] Chelsea to accelerate defender move and boost Liam Rosenior’s squad. Club was planning to wait until summer to make a defensive signing but are now bringing forward their plans


    + The club are open to January opportunities to add a new midfielder and a versatile attacker.

    + But defense is currently rated as the most likely position to be strengthened this month.

    + Jeremy Jacquet (Rennes) and Jacobo Ramon (Como) are the two names being linked.

    + Sources claim several of Chelsea’s key players reportedly grew frustrated under Maresca.

    + After replacing the Italian, Rosenior has moved quickly to unite the squad, holding both team meetings and one-to-one talks to understand players’ roles, form, and fitness.

    + With a heavy match schedule, he is unlikely to introduce major tactical changes, instead focusing on small adjustments to gain marginal improvements.

    + One well-placed source said: "The mood has been really good since Liam came in. Not everyone had been entirely happy, but there has been a notable shift and Liam’s communication skills have been really evident."

      I feel by the way they saw Estevao getting pissed here as well, we all saw how pissed he was coming off at times under Maresca so i have a feeling he might be one they were thinking.

      Was about to say that watching yesterday’s game, we are back to square one. The manager wants to play from the back but we don’t have the CBs and keeper to do it so we either need an internal solution which just may not be possible or reach out in the transfer window. I am glad we are trying to attack the problem now, hopefully it’s someone quality but the key is the right profile.

      is there any other real option then guehi tho? and even so, is guehi leader kind of player? cause we got solid options now, we got physical players, we got players that pass, that can run (more or less you know) and all that, but lack someone whos gonna lead the defense and yell if needed.

      Guehi is your man. Can be had for around 30m i bet. Will demand higher wages but he is proven in the league and could drop into the team today.
