1) Huge pop star says ‘I’m back baby’ as Liverpool gig announced
A BRIT Award-winning singer has announced a Liverpool show after the rest of her UK performances sold out. Multi-platinum selling artist Jessie J is bringing a special performance to the city’s Philharmonic Hall. The musician’s pitstop in the city follows the release of her deeply personal and reflective track No Secrets, and the feel-good single Living My Best Life, which landed straight on BBC Radio 2’s and Capital FM’s A List. Speaking about the tour, Jessie J said: “Ready to hear some classics, some new stuff and some mum jokes and maybe even buy a T-shirt with my face on woiii oiii. Cannot wait to see you all it’s been too long, I’m back baby.” READ HERE.
2) Harry Styles fans speculate after poster appears on Liverpool wall
Fans are speculating on social media about the meaning of a poster which has appeared in Liverpool. A poster has been spotted on Grafton Street in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle area which shows a crowd of people with “we belong together” written across it. Harry Styles fans believe the posters, which have been spotted in locations across the world including New York and Berlin, could be a hint that the former One Direction star is returning to music. The singer released his last album ‘Harry’s House’ in 2022 and has not released another album since. A website with the same branding appears to have launched around the same time that posters were spotted. READ HERE.
3) Jon Venables parole hearing update as James Bulger’s mum to hear voice of son’s killer
James Bulger’s mum, Denise Fergus, will hear the voice of one of her son’s killers for the first time in 30 years after Jon Venables was granted a parole hearing. James, who was two, was taken from The Strand shopping centre in Bootle on February 12, 1993 by Venables and Robert Thompson. The pair took him through the streets of Liverpool before murdering him on a railway embankment near Walton Lane police station. Thompson and Venables were found guilty after a three-week trial at Preston Crown Court in November 1993. Both were released after less than eight years in a young offenders institute. READ HERE.
4) 23 photos show why restaurant found with grime and slime was given worst rating
Photos taken by a Merseyside council food hygiene inspector reveal the true extent of the dirty and grimy conditions found inside a restaurant. Amara in Wallasey Village was given a zero food hygiene rating in October. The Turkish BBQ restaurant was told urgent improvement was necessary in all areas and given the worst possible rating. During their inspection, Wirral Council’s environment health team said they found slime, feta that was so off it was pink and smelled rancid, mouldy olives, and mouse droppings. 5) He got married in Vegas but three months later his wife was a widow
A Ryanair pilot was married in Vegas only three months before he was killed when his Uber was hit by a lorry. Matthew Greenhalgh, 28, and Jamie Fernandes, 24, died when the taxi which was taking them to Liverpool John Lennon Airport was crushed between two HGVs. It came after the driver of the HGV travelling behind them, Anthony Burns, failed to spot a queue of stationary traffic which had formed ahead of him amid a closure of the westbound carriageway of the M62. While he was suspected of having fallen asleep at the wheel, he now claims he was “effectively on autopilot” and “did not register what was ahead of him until it was far, far too late”. READ HERE.
