Who says Real Madrid is irresistible? Out of the thousands and thousands of professional players, I'm sure you'll find lots who will simply refuse to sign for and play for Real Madrid. If I were a pro footballer, I'd reject any approach from Real Madrid, regardless the money offered, regardless my age, regardless the stage of my career, simply because I detest the way Real Madrid conduct their affairs off the pitch and the things they say about and against others for eg. the referees situation right now for one.

For me Trent has lost a lot of respect. LFC have supported him throughout the academy, he's first choice for a successful football team, considered one of the world's greatest clubs. And he leaves the way he does with no fee?
We could get around £70m for him, that would help massively to help rebuild the club.

Trent might regret this, he's at Liverpool a club where the fans love him and will go to every length to defend him. Even with his defensive weakness, the fans have supported him and defended him at all costs.
