  1. Studs over the ball, out of control and makes contact with the player…..

Penalty to Celtic is the obvious correct call. /s

  2. Ref’s no gonna give a red when they’re playing at home. Goes against the SFA rulebook

  3. At the time I thought it was just a solid tackle but seeing it in slow motion I got to say he’s lucky to no be be sent off. That is not pretty.

  4. He’s wearing a Celtic strip so…678 days and counting since their last red card in a domestic game.

  5. Celtic are victims of a refereeing conspiracy in which they never get beneficial decisions. I expect the Utd player should have been booked for simulation

I’d guess he got away with it because it was low maybe? But personally that’s a red all day long, happy he stayed on mind you

It one of those that I think VAR was meant for, it’s not a clear red to me but had the ref given it I’d have no complaints.

  8. Pasting from the other thread:

    >[Watching it back](https://xcancel.com/GM1872_/status/2010052062239961238#m) I think Araujo got very lucky – he seems to have caught the side of Ferry’s foot with his studs, which is low enough that it can subjectively be a reckless challenge (i.e. yellow) rather than dangerous (i.e. red). His leg is pretty much straight at the point of contact, which counts against him. For it to only be reckless, the ref must have felt the contact was with “limited force” or otherwise didn’t endanger the opponent.

    >As a subjective decision it’s conceivable (just) that VAR wouldn’t recommend an on-field review if the on-field ref’s description was accurate and he was confident in his original decision, but for an incident at that speed, with a number of factors to consider, I think they should have done it anyway.

  9. I’m shocked a VAR decision went against us, shocked I say. Also they won 4-0, we didn’t take a shot on target, we were toothless…..why do it?

The tackle of a man who had one appearance and one red card for Bournemouth this season.

  11. Absolutely nailed on for me. Comes in at a heck of a pace and endangers the opponent, tackling over the ball.

84 games since their last red?

  12. It’s absolutely a red and Nick Walsh has got a good view of that and shouldn’t have needed VAR to show a red.
