Mikel Arteta reveals whether Kai Havertz will finally make his long-awaited return from injury in Arsenal’s FA Cup tie at Portsmouth.

0:05 Kai to come back? If everything goes well, I think so. I think he’s going to be in the squad again in the next few days. He trains well, he’s increased his load, he’s coping with that really well. And it will be great if we can have him.
0:25 Is there a feeling that maybe sometimes you need to temper expectations on the outside, when a player has missed so much football, about what they might bring when they do come back? Yes, but I understand this is the level as well. And when a player has the chance to put our shirt on and compete for us, you know that the demands are excellence – and that’s it. Kai is aware of that.
0:55 Last time you went to Portsmouth, March 2020, you probably had Covid??…
1:30 Do you feel you get the credit you deserve for winning that trophy, particularly in those circumstances, because it was such a surreal time?
I don’t know. At the end I think we have to get judged, and we get judged for what we do today.
2:06 Given you lifted that trophy in an empty stadium, how much does that make you want to lift a trophy with your own fans?
2:27 Do you think you’ll need to make many changes for this cup tie?
2:59 Might Kepa be one of them, he’s done very well in the League Cup?
3:10 Is there a chance for Ricardo Calafiori to be back against Portsmouth?
3:35 Piero went off here as well, is this now sort of the chance, we spoke about the lack of minutes Myles has had at times, is this now his chance to sort of step up?

  1. Keep this manager under pressure. He's had it too easy for too long considering his trophy haul. Effectively all managers should feel the weight of expectation. They're employees. They're not the club. Hopefully Berta is watching and giving feedback to the Kroenkes. The excuse culture at this club needs to end now the money and time and is being made available for success.

  2. What a weird manager and personality!! What is he smiling about after that disgusting dreadful performance against Liverpool in our backyard?!!! He should be looking angry and frustrated, not cheerful and happy. If he doesn't win the league this year with all these top players, he needs to go and never look back

  3. Does he not realise how Sh*t we were against Liverpool, we had the Opportunity to go EIGHT Points ahead of Man City and he sent the players out to play so Defensively… He doesn't have a Clue about when to make Subs or how to make changes during a game. His arrogance is on the same level as Wenger in his last 10 years.

  4. With Hincapie & Calafiori not available, we'll have MLS as our LB. He should up his game as he had been poorly sluggish & too slow this season.

  5. Arteta is there laughing he doesn’t know the pressure at hand. No one cares about a process without trophy anymore we’ll be there when he’s sacked. If he has any ambitions he’ll make a move for Lewandowski this transfer window

  6. The amount of idiotic comments on here is truly hilarious.

To think that some of these people spend decades watching, analising, scrutinizing the sport called football. Then they go on YouTube and make comments that makes it impossible to take them seriously. Just pure shenanigans.

Arteta should just say flat out YES HES GONNA PLAY 120 minutes if he has to.
We are selling Gyokeres and Jesus and Saka and Madueke and Eze and Martinelli and Trossard and Rice.

There, now that’s the answer these self proclaimed journalists would love to hear.

They would all chuckle giggle and laugh and would still fail to see that the only reason for such a ridiculous answer is the fact that the question was equally as retarded as the answer given.

  7. It’s no coincidence that all strikers struggle under Arteta. Even Haaland would flop under Arteta. He prefers to play midfielders so they can move around more. It’s either wing play or set pieces. That’s it. Nothing more. We don’t play through the middle. Full backs hardly overlap. Central defenders play 500 passes to each other every game. One of the best finishers in the game is now a pressing forward. His job is to chase down defenders all game till he tires out after 70 minutes.

  8. Yeah try someone new at centre forward and bring Havertz on as a substitute to get him some minutes. I would love to see Madueke there. Not shit shy, physical presence, pace, height, good interplay. It would give Nwanieri a chance to play again and reward Madueke with minutes for great performances (he with never replace Saka) Why not?

  9. Havertz has some Ability but he is just not up to the prem. needs to be moved on and play on Italy or Germany again. We need to find that goal scorer. Sadly Gyokeres is looking a bit slow for the prem. Jesus is to fragile and is past it. I actually consider a punt on Harry Kane. Really piss of the spuds too.

  10. Arteta couldn't get out of the 3rd and 4th rounds in the past 5 years, let alone reaching the final …. he always holds the players back from their potential with his handbrake tactics that saw the most miracle display against Liverpool… and he will push his luck again tomorrow, and he will find out

  11. All this Havertz love… then thinking back to the quizzical comments when he was signed and the fact he was given a penalty to take as he couldn't score for toffee 😂 Get behind Gyokeres Gooners, I know he's struggling but confidence is KEY!
