Scores or assists pretty much every game he starts

He is the Bernie replacement, and he’s here to stay

  1. Here to stay yes, he’s a really useful squad player but not a Bernardo replacement.

    Bernardo is/has been a starter, can’t replace him with a squad player…

  2. He knows the system really well and I like that about him. He’s a great rotational piece to me and plays with that fire. Just not someone I want to see starting and playing the full 90

  3. Well done Rico. Hopefully he can put this last year behind him now.

Wouldn’t expect a bunch of plastics to know what support is.

  4. Hes a solid squad player but he needs a “2020 John Stones” kind of leap to become a regular.

  5. I’m that sad I’ve looked at the profiles of those saying no to see where they’re from

Not one Manc, let alone English

I’m all for international fans, I encourage it, just learn how this club works first before you start talking shit about academy players. It’s like a brotherhood, or sisterhood as I’m female. Think how the Uzbek’s feel about Khusanov, we feel that way about our young lads coming through the academy, especially when they’ve passed through every age group. We have the money to spend big but we always provide a route for academy players. If you saw Phil Foden from the beginning you’d have wanted him gone

  6. He was great today

His main issue is he isn’t big enough to be a defender but I agree with OP that he can be a Bernardo replacement, he’s so good in the ball

I don’t think they would have renewed him with no plan and I doubt the plan is RB

  7. I really like rico Lewis, he’s good for depth rn but has a lot of potential and can be good enough to regularly start

I was used to like the guy in the season before last season and thought he was underrated, but man he sucks as an RB when there are no one to cover for his lack of physicality.

A true first team quality player needs to take the place of Bernardo. This was Exeter. Rico can’t defend as RB and isn’t the right technical or physical profile for midfield. He’s perfect as he is, a squad player.
