Liam Rosenior has only been at Chelsea for less than a week, but he’s already seeing the qualities of some of his new players.

This will be a very new challenge for Liam Rosenior, coming into a club that has lots of big personalities after managing at a relatively low-pressure club like Strasbourg previously.

Chelsea has the pressures and expectations of the supporters, and rightly so, after so many years of success that have disappeared in recent times.

Enzo Maresca could do no wrong on the trophy front, winning the Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League in 2025, but disagreements with the ownership brought things to a halt.

But the important thing is, he did leave behind a squad that can challenge for titles and trophies; they just need the right management and a couple of additions in the right areas.

Liam Rosenior pays a big compliment to Moises Caicedo

Moises Caicedo‘s stock has grown massively since making his way to Chelsea. He was a part of the leadership group under Enzo Maresca and will play an equally big part under Rosenior.

However, there’s already pressure on Rosenior when it comes to the midfielder.

John Obi Mikel has claimed that Rosenior needs to win Caicedo over in his early days at Stamford Bridge or he risks losing his job.

To be fair to him, he’s doing all he can in the media, as he gave Caicedo the biggest compliment you can give a player when speaking ahead of Charlton.

What do the stats say about Moises Caicedo?

We’re only in January, yet Peter Crouch has already named Moises Caicedo in his Premier League Team of the Season so far, and it’s fully justified.

The stats back it up, too. He’s outshining Rodri and Declan Rice in several key areas.

Some could say that Rodri hasn’t been fit this season, and they’d be right. However, he’s beating Declan Rice, a player who’s helping lead Arsenal’s title charge and is renowned as one of the best.

Even with Chelsea’s inconsistencies, Caicedo is still putting in the hard yards and it shows.
