Chelsea’s transfer window is expected to be a quiet one, but Trevoh Chalobah may have just added fuel to the fire with Antonio Rudiger.
Trevoh Chalobah has been the unsung hero for Chelsea so far this season. He may not be the biggest of names, but he rose above most of those in the Blues squad to establish himself under Enzo Maresca.
It’s been a big learning curve for the Chelsea defender, but he’s easily one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and will likely continue his rise under Liam Rosenior.
One of the former Chelsea players who has helped Chalobah is Thiago Silva. His reading of the game and anticipation are the two areas he attributes to the Brazilian.
However, there’s one other former player whom Chalobah is still in contact with, and that’s Antonio Rudiger.
Would YOU have Antonio Rudiger back at Chelsea, and why? 🧱

Trevoh Chalobah admits he’s still in touch with Antonio Rudiger
Antonio Rudiger was a huge part of some of the most successful years at Chelsea.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, he scooped up a Champions League, Europa League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and an FA Cup trophy.
And it seems his connection to Chelsea hasn’t gone away, as Trevoh Chalobah still talks to the defender.
Speaking to Chelsea about the FA Cup final, he had this to say.
“Because I had been training with the first-team during the second half of the season, it wasn’t so daunting – I felt ready,’ he smiles, reflecting on a final settled by Eden Hazard’s spot-kick.
“It was a great moment. It was my first senior medal and trophy, and it was such a great experience to share it with the likes of Toni Rudiger and Eden Hazard.
“Rudiger was great with me that season in particular. He helped me a lot, and I still talk to him to this day. He’s been an important part of my journey. The likes of Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud all helped as well.”

The recent talk of a return to Chelsea for Antonio Rudiger came from the mouth of former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour.
“Take him, he knows Chelsea, I’d take him straight back. You’d definitely take Rudiger back, every Chelsea fan would have him back.”
Rudiger is now 32 years of age, so he certainly has some good years left in him if Thiago Silva was anything to go by, but it remains to be seen if he would entertain a return.
Although the fact that he’s already talking to Chalobah does offer hope that he would potentially reunite with some of his former teammates.
But we have to remember he’s on super high wages at Real Madrid.
