Pre-match press conference with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ahead of Manchester City v Brighton in the Premier League.
Guardiola gives a detailed injury update, confirming Ruben Dias has a hamstring injury and is expected to be out for around six weeks, while John Stones is not ready for the next games, with Guardiola unsure how long his absence will be.
He confirms Nathan Ake is fine and available, and explains the squad is stretched with several long term injuries and players away on international duty, while stressing City will cope with what they have.
Guardiola also reacts to Ruben Amorim losing his job at Manchester United, calling him a top manager and saying managers are given less time than ever in modern football.
He discusses managing player fatigue, assessing the squad day by day, the January transfer window, the challenge of sustaining a smaller squad, and praises Arsenal’s strength over the last two to three seasons, insisting margins at the top are very small.

I’ll laugh if Amorim succeeds PEP and wins everything.
Pep: “another one” ☝🏿
He said the same thing about every single sacked United manager.
Top manager in Portugal maybe . Think the kitchen got a bit too hot for him here
Are you not scared that you might be next in City? These journalists are scared to be direct
The shake of the head says everything. He can see what a mess the ownership of Utd is. Everyone can.
I want Ruben to succeed him at city and beat us 10-0 at Old Trafford next season
Only PEP at this moment might be the only manager that can save united
Bro will say the high school girls coach from New England is also a world class coach.
Baldy managers should unite. Period.
Open an association in solidarity
If Amorim ever joins city, I will support city
He dodged a bullet at utd 😅
No honesty in football 😂
Club's don't want Managers anymore. They want "Yes" men who will do what they want and then blame them when that doesn't win them anything.
Ten Hag had more time 😂
Pep must be smoking crack cocaine again if he believes Amorim is a top manager
As a united fan since 90s Amorim deserves better. Officially hanging up my Unt shirt, cant support a club that no longer resembles even 10% of United used to be (should be). Ggs
This is the only coach who wins because of money
This is the only coach who wins because of money
This is the only coach who wins because of money
You always need subtitles for this nigga
Manchester United is 6th.. why is that bad?! 🤣
Poor pep
He’s seen a lot of United managers come and go in 10 years.
Ruben Amorim clearly is not a top manager, with a win ratio 31,9% , nothing special as a manager😅
I so badly was hoping that he would choose united over any other club 😢
From a top manager to another…we are screwed United fans
Indios has made it worse not better
Top 4 club now top half
If it wasn't for cities dirty deals guardiola wouldn't be there check book manager
Pep is a great guy ❤
Stood up for the Palestinian people aswell, thankyou Pep ❤ 🇵🇸
Pep laughing on the inside with that remark
Not even Pep could win a title at United with the Glazers in charge.
Best decision he ever made was turning down United. Absolute Clown College at OT. Klopp too.
He refers United as neighbour.
Pep’s a liar, never forget how much he praised Onana and Maguire, baiting us into buying them(what a waste of 130 million), Amorim was deservedly sacked
No his not a top manager
Will be really funny if a bottom league team signs him and they climb past us
You can see Pep trying hard not to smile.
Soooo tired of Amorim sacking…Seriously…can we move on?
City can’t depend on B Silva and he couldn’t capitalise on chances that came his way in so many games and yet Pep keeps him in so many games, he has no faith in his youngsters on bench even though he’s team is struggling and if he still goes on with the strategies he has city will be winless this season. Youngsters should think twice joining city because there’s no way they can be successful in the way Pep handles them. He has to listen to genuine suggestions and he cannot get everything done alone.
Pep is happy he did not choose man utd at the time they offered him the job
