The United-linked Glasner has made a lasting impression with Crystal Palace, including leading the Eagles to the FA Cup trophy in the 2024-25 season.
Ruben Amorim’s sacking as United manager on Monday has now seen speculation mount even further around Glasner making his way to Old Trafford in the summer.

Unlike Amorim’s tactical system at United, Glasner insisted that the fine details of what he wants to see in his tactics are more important than the overall formation.
“There is too much discussion about the system,” he said, as per Sky Sports.
“The system is not important. Habits are important, the patterns and how you want your players to behave on the pitch. That is much more important.
“In my career, I have played every single system. Got promoted in Austria with a 4-4-2, then we switched to a 3-4-3.
“In Wolfsburg, we reached the Champions League with a 4-2-3-1. In Frankfurt, they played with three at the back before and it fit the squad.”
What Oliver Glasner’s feelings are on his Crystal Palace system is something that Ruben Amorim failed to comprehend
Glasner’s optics around his football tactics had the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt manager showed his pragmatism for adapting his approach in a “very fluid” system.
“I always look at what system might suit the players we have best,” he added.
“My favourite system is 4-4-2, but do we have the right players for this?
“We are talking much more about our habits than the system. The system is very fluid.”
Darren Fletcher is currently in charge of the United first-team squad ahead of the Red Devils appointing an interim head coach until the end of the current season.
