Edwards spent the second half of last season on loan at the Loftus Road outfit, winning the club’s Player of the Season award in just 22 appearances.
The 22 year old, a former England youth international, signed for Saints from Peterborough for £3million in 2024, but has only played 16 times.
Edwards started eight games under former manager Will Still, but has featured for a total of just seven minutes as a substitute under Tonda Eckert.
Saints have now confirmed the permanent transfer of Ronnie Edwards to QPR. At least £4.5million in exchange but I’m not sure. Hasn’t set the world alight at Saints but he’s 22, proven in Championship and has big potential. Feels like dangerous short-term thinking.#SaintsFC

Upon confirming the deal late on Friday evening, a Saints statement said: “Edwards departs with the best wishes of the club for his future career.”
Speaking to QPR, Edwards said: “I’m buzzing and can’t wait to get going. When I came here last January, I had an amazing time.
“I felt like I was at home straight away, I loved everything about it; the boys, the staff, the fans – so it was a no-brainer for me.
“I thought my loan probably couldn’t have gone any better. It’s like a different mentality now, knowing that I’m here permanently. It feels amazing.”
