With new head coach Liam Rosenior in attendance, this game was a literal audition for many, and we certainly showcased some of our familiar habits, both good and bad.
Delap of course already worked with Rosenior, a couple years ago when they were both at Hull City, so he’s not a complete unknown for the new man in charge, but he certainly made a strong case for getting more minutes going forward.
That’s back-to-back good games for Delap, who’s struggled to adjust, settle, and perform at the club since arriving in the summer. Injuries haven’t helped, but he looks fully fit and fully motivated. And now he’s off the mark in the Premier League for us, too!
It wasn’t Bob’s best game; it wasn’t his worst.
And that easily made him one of our best performing players on a disappointing night.
