Tim Vickery on potential signing Souza (actually quite promising)

  1. Vickery is a Spurs fan but is at least honest.

He caught a load of shit from some of our online idiots when he said Veliz wasn’t good when we signed him

This guy also said Veliz and emerson Royal would be shit, so he knows his stuff

I think people are understandably pissed that he’s not a PL quality player, but I think Destiny is a great example of what quality we can find; let’s see how it looks!

  4. I like Tim Vickery and he’s a Spurs fan as well, but based on the majority of our previous signings, I wouldn’t get to excited

  5. Would Souza qualify for a UK work permit?

After a cursory glance at the points-based process here: [https://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/registrations/gbe-2025-26/fa-mens-players-gbe-criteria-202526.ashx](https://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/registrations/gbe-2025-26/fa-mens-players-gbe-criteria-202526.ashx) , it looks like it would be a stretch for him to join Spurs this season. He plays in a 3rd tier league (according to the FA), he’s almost never featured for his national team (he’s only played 12 matches for the U17s way back in 2023 and never since), and he’s not even playing super regularly for Santos (only about 50% of the league minutes).

It’s a super complicated process that I don’t fully understand, but it doesn’t even look possible for him to join Spurs any time soon. We’d need to loan him out to a lower-tier European side with laxer immigration rules, have him build up regular playing time (not a given) and only then apply for a work permit. But that’s a long way off from him helping Tottenham.

  6. As long as he gets a work permit, he’s exactly what we need.

Which 25 year old do we buy now and who do we de- register to accomplish it?

  7. Getting fed up of another “quite promising” signing. How about we look at an “immediate impact” signing to worry about the next 1.5 years rather than 5 years down the line

  8. As much as people say we need proven players. We also had an ageing squad that needed turning over, think going young is maybe the only way we can get these top talents. ( Hopefully they devolp in the top talents they are showing) Then full in the gaps. Something needs to change maybe this is the job lange was given when hired.
